There is a prayer mountain in Pretoria. It is beautiful. I had been told about the sanctuary at Friends of Faerie Glen Nature Reserve in Pretoria East, but nothing compared to what I saw and experienced when I got there. There were several groups assembled on the mountain top to pray and call upon the Name of our LORD Jesus Christ. Couples, families and individuals came to this sanctuary to catch their breath.

We prayed and had communion at the top of the mountain. It was so beautiful. Dogs on a leash are allowed to join in. What makes this really special is that it is the type of place where people are really friendly to each other, moving aside for others to pass and greeting one another. There are also many different races, creeds and cultures from all works of life that ascend the mountain to pray.

It is emotional. Moving. Breathtaking. All-consuming. I saw people sitting on rocks and crying as they opened their hearts to God in prayer. There were many people holding hands, unitedly standing in a circle and praying. As we crossed a bridge, nature engulfed us. It is so beautiful, I fall short of words. You get the feeling that you are far away. People also come here to run, hike, walk and relax.

It is beautiful beyond measure. I had heard a lot about this mountain where people assemble to pray. I am so glad I went. Wow. I went to Friends of Faerie Glen Nature Reserve in Pretoria East in August 2017. It is without any reservations that I proudly recommend a visit to Friends of Faerie Glen Nature Reserve in Pretoria East.

Please note that there were recent safety concerns, so go at your own risk. Also it may be worth your while to take extra precautions when going there (maybe take a whistle along and avoid isolated areas, amongst other precautions).
