Sisters? Check! Flat shoes? Check! Ready for an unknown adventure and fun? Yep! - And so we went to check out the sign leading to "Fort Klapperkop" that we have so often driven past, but never dared to explore over the years.

What makes this place all that is that it is a mere stone throw away from Pretoria CBD (Central Business District) and yet it feels like one is very far away. There are a lot of pitstops along the way where you can spot joggers and lovers enjoying the beauty.

Had it not been for the information that we were told by locals around there that we should be very careful as that area was crime infested simply because it is so relaxed. We were warned of rapes in the area for unsuspecting joggers and cyclists who come here to revive their psyches. People come here to relax and get away from the stressful, fast-paced life of the nearby city.

We stopped so many times on the steep incline and winding mountain road to our initial intended destination, that by the time we eventually reached the entrance of Fort Klapperkop, it was closed. We did not mind. In fact, the route here turned out to be the ultimate destination we would definately visit again, with caution.
